French Eagle – the Dassault Mirage 4000

In the 1970s the decision by President Carter to cut exports of top end American fighter aircraft meant there was a gap in the market. Dassault of France were more than happy to fill it. But whereas most customers would take their Mirage F1, or else actively consider the advanced Mirage 2000 that was in development, some wanted something that offered a lot more. And so, Dassault developed the Mirage 4000 - France's equivalent to the formidable McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle. Book on the subject: Have something to say?
