Historic Red Army Victory Parade

Today, Victory Day, or the Day of Liberation from Nazi barbarism, is celebrated across Europe, marking the Red Army’s final defeat of the Wehrmacht on its own soil in 1945. On the night of May 8, 1945, the Wehrmacht command signed the instrument of surrender, ending World War II in Europe. Watch archive footage filmed in 1945 of the world-famous military parade held by the Red Army in Moscow following the defeat of Nazi Germany, which was prepared in only one month. The parade featured soldiers who had distinguished themselves in battle and the destruction of Nazi symbols confiscated during the war. The Soviet Union lost a staggering 27 million citizens to Hitler’s war of extermination. 5.7 million members of the Red Army fell into German captivity, where about 3.3 million of them died of hunger, cold, disease, forced labor, or were shot. #RedArmy #WWII #Antifascism Become a Patreon - Support our Work: Follow us:
