Palestinian Journalist BLASTS ‘Outrageous’’ CBS Reporter Who Attacked Ta-Nehisi Coates

Watch more exclusive interviews here: ' Palestinian journalist Rami Khouri talks about how Western media and politicians repeat Israeli talking points. He points out a recent example in which CBS “reporter” Tony Dokoupil used “outrageous” arguments to attack writer Ta-Nehisi Coates who criticized Israel in his latest book “The Message.” Rami also talks about how Israel targets civilians wants to ethnically cleanse Palestinians and traces it back to The Balfour Declaration. People will always resistance occupation, and Rami is shocked by Israel’s cruelty. Rami also rejects the claim, made by many including UN ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield that Iran’s attack on Israel was “unprovoked.” He says, “Israelis and American officials and others in the West will say, ‘the Iranians just attacked Israel with no reason. Israel was being peace-loving and was just protecting itself.’ But that's not correct. The Israelis have killed scientists and officials in Iran for recently killed some in Lebanon. They killed some in they assassinated the Hamas leader Haniyeh in Iran. They've constantly threatened Iran with attacks against its nuclear facilities, and they've pushed the Americans to sanction them, to attack them. So it's not unprovoked.” Rami says that people are finally seeing through the propaganda. But the “imperial power” that is “the United States... totally agrees with what Israel is doing and is very happy to see the Palestinians mass slaughtered. The only conclusion you can draw by looking at the Biden response and the British response and the German’s a little bit is that they're perfectly happy with this. What Biden says that, ‘oh, they should reduce the civilian casualties or they should really make a ceasefire to exchange prisoners and hostages,’ that's totally insincere and totally contradicted by the actual policies of the United States and what it's doing. You can't really put any credence in what any American official says about the Middle East. That's a pretty strong statement, but it's based on what we see happening.” Rami Khouri is a Palestinian American journalist and a senior public policy fellow at the American University of Beirut, as well as a nonresident senior fellow at the Arab Center Washington DC.
