BAISER (JP Band) - Prism / プリズム (Music Video PV) [4K 60FPS] (1999) | Gokudo / ゴクドーくん漫遊記 OP

HIYA! Here is a new 2021 VHS rip of the music video of the song “Prism“ or “プリズム“, by Japanese visual-kei rock band “BAISER“ (ベーゼ), released in 1999. The rip was then upscaled to 4K 60FPS using artificial intelligence and video editing software. This song was also used as the opening theme of the anime series “Gokudo“ or “ゴクドーくん漫遊記“. ENJOY! Finally some BAISER on my channel! One of my all-time favourite bands. BAISER formed in 1991, and remained active until 2001. Their music / sound and image changed a lot in these ten years; From dark and edgy hard-rock, to lighter, colourful, up-beat pop-rock. They had their major record label debut in 1999 with this song as their first major single. The founder, and only consistent member of BAISER from 1991 to 2001 is vocalist “紫“ / “Yukari“. BAISER created a ton of videos to support their music, even already in 1992. But sadly, all of these videos only ever released on VHS, and none ever got released or reissued to the DVD format, or official internet uploads. Also, the quality of some of these VHS is low, even for VHS standards. Prism is no exception, even with it being their video with the highest production budget. The FPS is quite low, even reaching 15-20FPS, and the colours and lighting of different shots are not consistent; Some shots are much darker or lighter than others. For the editing process, I upscaled it to 4K multiple times, with different AI models. Then, in the video editing program, I chose the best-fitting AI model per shot / scene change. I also edited the lighting per shot to be consistent with the rest. It was quite a lot of work, but I'm happy with the result! I noticed the shots with Yukari in it were much brighter than the shots with the other members. I think this was done on purpose, but the difference in the original was really extreme. So I kept it to respect the original intention, but toned it down so it's much more pleasing to watch. The audio of the song on the VHS (music video), and Hana album are almost exactly the same, but they still have some minor differences. Personally, I think the mix on the album is better, so I decided to dub it over this music video. But the difference is hardly noticable. The only other rip on-line of this PV is decades-old, and it is almost unwatchable... Are you one of the old-school BAISER fans used to watching that rip? I hope you enjoy this video then!! Since I don't have a top-tier VCR setup yet, my friends at Rarezhut, an American on-line visual-kei store, ripped this VHS for me, and their setup is amazing too! But still, even after that rip, a lot of work had to be done to make it as good as possible! For the moment, it sadly seems that BAISER has no plans of reuniting, or reissuing their music... The last release was from 2002... So I think my channel will be safe, copyright-wise, if I upload their music. So... Lots more coming!! BAISER is quite hard to collect, and most of their stuff is hard to find... So, consequently, most stuff is expensive... Even their most common releases can be quite expensive... I'm still missing their first two demo tapes, and first two VHS tapes! I have personally not seen the anime series where this song was used, I wonder what it's about! But I barely have time for any movies or TV shows!! lol. I really love the movements of the drummer in this clip! And I also love the bass solo! Fun fact: “BAISER“ is French for “Kiss“. ベーゼ / プリズム PV 4K 60FPS Song name: Prism Song name (Japanese): プリズム Artist: BAISER Artist (Japanese): ベーゼ Album: Hana Album (Japanese): 華 Release date (Hana): 10 November, 1999 VHS with PV: Video collection + plus 彩 Release date (VHS): 08 December, 1999 Label: For-Tune Records Music by: 紫 (Yukari) Lyrics by: 森雪之丞 (Yukinojo Mori) Members: Vocals: 紫 (Yukari) Guitar: 水月 (Mizuki) Guitar: 零 (Rei) Bass: 泰祐 (Shaisuke) Drums: 桂 (Katsura)
