Nude activists protest fur trade

Over 50 members of the AnimaNaturalis animal protection group staged a nude protest in Barcelona on Sunday to highlight the existence of fur farms across Europe. The protesters arranged themselves in a shivering heap on the ground, covered in red paint and holding a sign which read ‘For a fur-free Europe.’ ‘We demand the closure of fur farms. As you can see, the people taking part are completely naked and are sprayed with artificial blood and piled on top of each other, symbolizing the lives left behind by the fur industry,’ said an AnimaNaturalis spokesperson. Their eye-catching stunt was intended to symbolize the number of animals needed to make a single fur coat.
