Grappling in Marozzo | Friendly vs. Serious

The probably most brutal and less elegant part of Bolognese swordsmanship: Alex shows us the first five prese in Marozzo’s book from 1536. We tried to do a comparison of the sparring-friendly version and a more serious way to execute them. This presentation of historical techniques in a fencing book from 1536 emerged primarily out of historical interest and HEMA-nerdism. We are not self-defence instructors and we do not discuss the effectiveness of this techniques in a modern, life-threatening situation. If you are looking for functional self-defence, go ask Master Ken and follow the path of Ameri-Dō-Te. --- 00:00 Intro 00:44 The “Knives” 01:33 Friendly vs. Real Deal 02:18 Giovanni 02:35 Disclaimer 02:56 1° Presa 05:44 2° Presa 08:51 3° Presa 09:52 4° Presa 13:33 5° Presa 15:46 Outro --- Links: - Opera Nova, 1536 – Achille Marozzo (Italian) =sr_1_1?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=R8EM3O3WODD9&keywords=achille+marozzo+opera+nova&qid=1650651961&s=books&sprefix=achille+marozzo+opera+nova%2Cstripbooks%2C79&sr=1-1 - Opera Nova, 1536 – Achille Marozzo (English Translation by Jherek Swanger) - Das Einzelschwert, 2012 – Alex Zalud (German) - Our Translations of Marozzo on our Homepage (German) --- Fior della Spada Homepage: Facebook: Instagram: Tiktok: @fiordellaspada?lang=nl-NL Elisabeth Instagram:
