It appeared in the 1997 film Clubbed to Death and was given renewed attention in 1999 due to its inclusion in the film The Matrix. It was re-released as a single in 2002 with new remixes. The subtitle Kurayamino variation is based on the Japanese for “of the darkness“ (暗闇 の（くらやみ の） kurayami no. It denotes Dougan's own mix in a tragic style, as well as his stated inspirations from dark Japanese writers like Yukio Mishima or Yasunari Kawabata. “Clubbed to Death“ samples “It's a New Day“ by Skull Snaps and “City of the Angels“ by Wang Chung.
