France Pledges Weapons to Armenia As Russia Fumes Over Pashinyan’s International Criminal Court Move

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna visited Armenia on October 2 and agreed to deliver military equipment. Colonna’s visit came after Azerbaijani forces swept through the breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh. Colonna’s visit came as the Armenian parliament voted to join the International Criminal Court (ICC) on October 3. Joining the Hague-based court now makes Yerevan obliged to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he were to visit the country.
