Softspoken - OBLIVION (Official Music Video)

Break that mirror on the wall, Beg for mercy as I fall Sinking deeper into oblivion. Break that mirror on the wall, Hate myself because I follow through With things I don't wanna do No more suffering Necromaniac, but I use to feel alive Embrace the likes of warmer tides But now the waves crash faster What would you do in my place? Falling from this grace All the words they come out sad and lonely Sounds of desperation Hungry and torn My eyes roll through my head Now the universe has got my soul shaken up again Break that mirror on the wall, Hate myself because I'm hollowed out And lost in orbit It makes my heart sick, I wanna choke it All I feel, all I see is blank space Forgotten love, seems they've all just lost my name Bury me beside the truth Eyes closed and I fade from view What would you do in my place? Falling from this grace All the words they come out sad and lonely Sounds of desperation Hungry and torn My eyes roll through my head Now the universe has got my soul shaken up again Yeah! Go berserk, throw myself to the fire! Yeah! Call the Father, let him know I'm expired. Pull the trigger and the gun goes boom. Yeah! Go berserk, throw myself to the fire! Yeah! Call the Father, let him know I'm expired. Pull the trigger, ride the bullet to oblivion. What would you do in my place? Falling from this grace All the words they come out sad and lonely Sounds of desperation Hungry and torn My eyes roll through my head Now the universe has got my soul shaken up again Yeah! Go berserk, throw myself to the fire! Yeah! Call the Father, let him know I'm expired. Pull the trigger, ride the bullet to oblivion. ________________________________ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 This song is about a dark, deep hole that I sometimes find myself in… and I think it’s something anyone can relate to. At a wider level it’s about depression and dealing with dark, even suicidal thoughts. Something that I always say, and that’s become something of a catchphrase for this band and what it’s about, is to keep your mind well and embrace the struggle. Truthfully I say that more as a reminder for myself than for anyone else. Oblivion is about reaching the tipping point... where the love you had for something has turned to despair; you lose all sense of what matters, and find yourself spiraling into a dark place where you won’t be heard, be seen, or even exist. Ironically, being fearful that I’ll never escape that darkness is what gives me the strength to just look up and see every day in a positive light. This song is my way of getting the darkness out, and I hope others who deal with dark thoughts or clouded headspaces can find a similar sense of strength from the song to just look up and try a new change of perspective. -Sam Scheuer ________________________________ 𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗦 Written & Performed by Softspoken Co-Written & Produced by Andrew Baylis Vocal Production by Cameron Mizell Engineered & Mixed by Cole Clark Mastered by Mike Kalajian ________________________________ 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗦 Video by Josh Emerick / JECP LLC
