Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 Op. 11 | Allegro Maestoso

Hi! Here's my first take on Chopin's Piano Concerto Mvmt 1. If I get a recording that I like more in the future (I probably will), I'll private this one and upload the other one instead. Many thanks to my amazing piano teacher for guiding my interpretation and being a wonderful accompanist! A year ago I made my return to piano (thanks to a spur of inspiration watching Ylia and through the encouragement of my wonderful friends). One of the most common things my friends tried convincing me to do was to learn a movement of any concerto. The idea was daunting to me at the time, I had always thought of concertos as a higher level of music performance that I was nowhere near ready for. But through this past year, doing a music competition (never thought I'd do music competitions again but I'm happy I did!) and listening to a myriad of music performances both in person and online, I decided in January to try to learn my favorite concerto. April 17th marked the culmination of all my efforts this past semester, and it has shown me (not only) immense progress and lots of areas (you can definitely hear the mistakes in this video lol) to work on. This has been an amazing first year returning to piano and I'm even more excited for the next. Onto polishing my work on this piece and learning other pieces now! Bye :)
