How hearing aids changed my life

Auditory Processing Disorder is a deep and nuanced topic. In this video I try to share as much as I can about it through the lens of my own personal experiences. The video touches on topics of disability and accessibility. For most of my life, I just thought that I was “bad“ at understanding people. It wasn't until a kindhearted therapist suggested that I look into hearing aids that I ever considered asking a doctor for help. Depending on what resources are available to you, it can be difficult to find an audiologist who is compassionate and knowledgeable in this topic. It can also be very difficult to authorize/finance hearing aids without a diagnosis of traditional hearing loss. That is unfair, and I wish I could do more to change it. If this is something you want to learn more about, was where I got my start with researching the topic.
