Timbalooloo Workshop for Kids with Oran Etkin & Moroccan musicians Samir Langus and Nizar Dahmani

Described as “ebullient“ by the New York Times and “a composer of eminent individuality“ by the legendary Yusef Lateef, Oran Etkin has cultivated a practice centered around creating deep musical connections that often transcend generational and cultural boundaries. He founded the Timbalooloo program to empower a generation of children to express themselves through the global language of music and to see the beauty in other cultures. Through international partners as well as their flagship program in New York, Timbalooloo has reached over 5,000 young children last year alone. This International Jazz Day online concert was filmed at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, New York and features Moroccan musicians Samir Langus and Nizar Dahmani. International Jazz Day 2024 is presented in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of Morocco and the City of Tangier. Major support for International Jazz Day is provided by the Doris Duke Foundation. Air transportation and additional support for arti
