Chicken Shawarma is a street food classic but not many know how to make shawarma at home. This easy shawarma recipe is optimized around one tray bake and one mixing bowl and delivers surprisingly awesome results in under 45 minutes!

Shawarma Style Seasoning
2 Tbsp paprika powder
1 Tbsp dried oregano
1/2 Tbsp cumin
1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 Tbsp salt
1 tsp msg
Shawarma Chicken & Veggie Tray Bake
6 large chicken drumsticks
6 tsp shawarma seasoning (or to taste)
3 Tbsp olive oil or cooking oil
mix, transfer onto a lined tray
2 medium potatoes, diced
1 small eggplant, diced
1 small red bell pepper, diced
2 Tbsp olive oil or cooking oil
salt to taste, about 1/2 tsp
add to tray
bake 30-35 mins @ 230C
soy sauce or maggi for drizzling after baking
Shawarma Sandwich Salad
1/2 cucumber, deseeded and diced
1 good large tomato, diced, drained
1 red onion, diced
about 1 cup or 6 Lebanese pickled cucumbers, diced
a good handful of parsley leaves, finely chopped
150g yogurt (3,5% fat)
3 Tbsp tahini
3 Tbsp mayo (optional but c'mon)
1 clove of garlic, minced
lemon juice to taste, about 1-2 Tbsp
2 tsp dried mint
1 Tbsp sugar
salt to taste, about 1/2 tsp
black pepper to taste
1 medium head of iceberg lettuce, shredded
4 Lebanese style Khubz or other thin flatbread

hummus
chili sauce like Sriracha
mango chutney
sandwich wrapping paper
