Current 93 - Union Chapel, London, UK (2023-03-11) [MATRIX - COMPLETE AUDIO/PARTIAL VIDEO]

Current 93 Live at the Union Chapel, London, UK March 11, 2023 (sorry for the 2013 typo in the video!) Matrix mix by Kiefer Gorena of Live Coil Archive. Current 93 featuring June-Alison Gibbons. To celebrate the launch of her brand new book Pepsi Cola Addict, she read a passage from it to bridge the gap between the complete playthrough of the “If a City is Set Upon a Hill“ album and some songs from the previous 2018 album “The Light is Leaving Us All.“ The ending was comprised of classic C93 track “Sleep Has His House“ and heartfelt speeches from David Tibet and Gibbons. All thirteen individual video sources, most comprised of brief cellphone recordings, synced to this source. Where a section of time had multiple camera angles of recorded footage, I as editor opted more for visual variety as opposed to which source had the highest video fidelity of the lot. Videos originally filmed vertically have a blurred out background layer to keep consistent 1920 x 1080 resolution. Photos presented in original resolution. “If a City...,“ “There is No Zodiac,“ and “Sleep Has His House“ have complete or mostly complete video footage. “...Is Set Upon a Hill“ and “The Milkmaid Sings“ have no video footage available. The rest have brief clips only available. I opted not to use most of the three songs played over the P.A. before C93's set, “Passion,“ “War of the Worlds,“ and “Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep“ because apparently they would cause the video to get blocked in some countries around the world, and I'd rather as many people as possible be able to see and hear this gig as possible if it means sacrificing part of the introduction. I had to downsize David Gostoli's 4K video clips to 1920 x 1080 due to technical limitations, but I uploaded the clips combined in 4K in a separate YouTube video. YouTube sourced footage uploaded by feccckkkkk and Svartkladd; I didn't originally want to do this, since YouTube heavily compresses audio/video, but it became necessary to fill in almost all of “There is No Zodiac“ and a sizable chunk of “Pepsi Cola Addict.“ Video: Dante Nuno, David Amela, Davide Gostoli, feccckkkkk,, James C. Garside, Kevin Shepherd, Markus Karl Phlippen, Mirko Argentiero, Peter Wood, Stef Cunningham, Svartkladd, & Wouter and Tanja Hiltrop Audio: Stef Cunningham. This was the biggest individual video project I've probably ever worked on, including any Coil matrix mix. I hope you enjoy. Cheers! -K.G. Get this mix here:
