Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly & Friends ~ We Shall Be Free

Probably recorded around the early 1940's. This is not a gospel song but the usual humorous social commentary one would expect from Woody. Featured here are of course his close friends - Leadbelly (vocal-guitar) Sonny Terry (Harmonica-wooos! and vocals) and Cisco Houston( guitar vocals) This song kind of points out some people and situations such as- Freedom of speech, homelessness, religious hypocrisy- etc. Personally the “preacher“ verse is my favorite. lol And Leadbelly's guitar is very prominent here. Really stands out. Thanks for watching / listening!
