The Caucasian captive, or Shurik’s New adventures“ — the feature film shot by Leonid Gaidai. The script for the film was written by Yakov Kostyukovsky and Maurice Slobodsky with the participation of the Director. Filming took place in 1966 in the pavilions of Mosfilm, as well as in the Crimea — on the basis of Yalta film Studio, in the Caucasus — in the area of Krasnaya Polyana and in Abkhazia — in the valley of lake Ritsa. The roles were played by Alexander Demyanenko, Natalia Varley, Vladimir Etush, Frunzik Mkrtchyan, Ruslan Akhmetov, Yuri Nikulin, Georgy Vitsin and Evgeny Morgunov, etc. The film takes place in the Caucasus. The plot is based on the adventures of a collector of folklore Shurik, who, while in the southern city, is involved in the story of the abduction of the girl Nina. The initiator of the kidnapping — the nomenklatura district worker comrade Saakhov; in the role of his Kunakov are the characters of the Comedy Trinity — a Coward, a Dunce and a Seasoned.
