Stabile, Instabile, Pulsativa (HEMA Concepts ⚔️)

My Interpretation of the terms Stabile, Instabile, and Pulsativa and how they apply to Fiore’s approach to the fight. I have included the text descriptions for each guard on the Turul HEMA Facebook Page for convenience - *Correction* Dente di Zenghiaro Mezana is written in the Getty Manuscript as “Stabile“. My use as Instabile stems from a typo in this PDF - This makes sense as the description for Dente di Zenghiaro Mezana is almost identical to Dente di Zenghiaro. Interestingly though, it is a nice guard to transition into from Instabile posta, especially if a mandritto fendente does not land, you can easily pull into Dente di Zenghiaro Mezana. Pulsativa (Powerful) - Breaks Other Guards, Can Defend Against All 7 Strikes, Defends by making a cover then moving to the close game Stabile (Strong) - Forward weighted, Beat incoming swords away before countering, launch strong thrusts with hands kept low) Instabile (Fluid/Changing) – Used in the wide game, fluidly transfer from one instabile posta to another to invite a predictable attack, rely on deception.
