Japanese Chinquapin with its massive canopy 🌲spirit of a giant snake

This giant Japanese Chinquapin stands on the ground of Yasaka Shrine, surrounded by paddy fields. A numerous number of thick branches spreading all directions forms a massive canopy covering 750 square meters. The thickest and longest branch reminded us a giant snake, symbolizing power and vitality. Unfortunately, it was cut down due to dying back, however, the spiritual power of this tree will never be lost.
