Learn Spanish: What were you doing? I was listening to music: Learn to express lasting, past actions

Learn Spanish by building sentences using very common, useful, grammatical structures. In this lesson you will learn to express past actions that last. For example, in English you would ask “What were you doing when I called? I think I was listening to music and that is why I did not hear my phone.“ Do you see the “I was listening...“? Well, let me tell you. That same structure, it is just as common in Spanish, and follows a specific pattern that needs the verb ESTAR en pasado imperfecto, plus a gerund.
