Reznor paid for the ARG himself, trying to keep it a secret from his record company as much as possible, stating: “What you are now starting to experience IS 'year zero'. It's not some kind of gimmick to get you to buy a record - it IS the art form... and we're just getting started. Hope you enjoy the ride.“ The game ran from roughly February 12, 2007 to May 2007, beginning when a string of mysterious websites was discovered around the internet related to the album. On April 13th many LA locals met at The Melrose Location which led to the first meeting of the OSR on April 18th 2007. The OSR meeting was held at a warehouse at Lacy Street Studios, the same location where the first Saw movie was filmed. Among the attendees was a planted stuntwoman, an attractive blonde meant to be memorable. During the SWAT team raid, the stuntwoman was grabbed from the audience by her hair and dragged out. Aaron North also volunteered to be slammed to the ground by the SWAT team. If you want to support this channel you can buy my music, plus you also get something to listen to:
