Schwarzenegger makes television debut in Netflix’s ’Fubar’ series

After a few years of hiatus–he is back! In his first career television role, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the cast of the new Netflix TV series 'Fubar' walked the red carpet in Los Angeles, California, today (May 22). Fubar is a spy-action comedy laced with a unique twist on family dynamics in the workplace. Schwarzenegger is no stranger to this genre. He plays Luke Brunner, a CIA agent on the verge of his golden years until he is called for one last undercover mission to save another agent—his daughter Emma Brunner played by Monica Barbaro. In his television debut, Schwarzenegger felt the role of Luke was fitting for him given his past roles in films like 'True Lies' where he plays secret agent Harry Tasker. “I'm used to shooting movies that take 3 hours, three months to do, but all of a sudden they shoot five months. It is much more concentration, longer work, many more pages every day. So you really have to hustle and you really have to kind of like work. Get your training and at the same time study for the next episode and all that stuff,” Schwarzenegger toldThe former California Governor is also an Executive Producer in the series. Schwarzenegger says the rigorous TV shooting schedule and other endeavors have kept him rejuvenated. “I have an exciting life.I do a TV series like Fubar. Then I do a documentary. Then they go off to Vienna to do the World Climate Conference. Then I go to USC, where I have the USC Schwarzenegger Institute and I teach students. So then they go and do a motivational speech somewhere. So it's like it's always something different and always something fun. So it makes my life really fun and it makes it interesting,” he said. The cast also includes a few fresh and notable faces like Milan Carter and comedian Fortune Feimster who play Arnold's trusted and seasoned agents helping navigate Luke through his mission. “He's the reason why I wanted to do this show. I wanted to learn from someone like him. He's been in the business forever, but he's very motivational. He's very much like inspiring people to work hard. He set the tone and would tell stories all the time and make us laugh. And it was really a wonderful experience,” said comedian Fortune 75, Fubar puts Schwarzenegger back in the driver's seat of an action-packed show with notable scenes as we remember him– saving the world and kicking villain butt. Bringing your daughter to work will be different after Fubar. The series premieres on Netflix on May 25.
