Tit Bits From Toni - The Shaftesbury Theatre Musical Comedy (1924)

Jack Buchanan plays Toni in the Shaftesbury Theatre musical comedy of the same name. Toni is the proprietor of a millinery establishment. Jack and the chorus do a groovy dance involving silly steps and a bit of tap dancing. Jack finds it hard to resist the “blandishments“ of Princess Stephanie, played by June. They sit together and Jack yawns as she speaks when her head is turned away. He smiles and nods when she turns towards him. She slaps him on the leg. He is bored and then scared by her flattery. Jack and June then dance together. They sit together and she flirts with him. He looks uncomfortable. Comedy routine involving Jack and men dressed as Gendarmes (?) or some sort of soldiers. Jack drinks lots of glasses of wine. He walks around the stage in a drunken fashion. He then does a drunken dance. Note: “Toni“ ran for 248 performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
