“The Cat in the Boots“. Audiobook. English fairy tales

“The Cat in the Boots“ (French: Le Maître chat ou le chat botté) is one of the most famous European fairy tales of Italian origin. The oldest version is recorded and published in the collection “Pleasant Nights“ by Giovanni Francesco Straparola in the XVI century. In 1634, another version was published by Giambattista Basile. Today, the most common version of the tale is the version of Charles Perrault, who included the tale in the collection “Tales of my mother Goose, or stories and tales of the past with instructive conclusions“ (1697). The tale also appeared in the second volume of the first edition of the collection “Children's and Family Tales“ (1812 № 33) of the Brothers Grimm.
