Europa Clipper’s PIMS and EIS Instruments

In June 2022, the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory delivered two key instruments and handful of other parts for NASA's Europa Clipper: the wide-angle camera of the Europa Imaging System (EIS) and the Plasma Instrument for Magnetic Sounding (PIMS). These instruments, built for NASA's largest planetary space mission ever, will provide unprecedented views of Jupiter's icy moon Europa and aid in revealing new details about its subsurface ocean and whether it holds all of the ingredients necessary for life to take hold.
