Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present this 1978 International Scout II. The Scout is an off-road vehicle produced by International Harvester from 1961 to 1980. A precursor of more sophisticated SUVs to come, it was created as a competitor to the Jeep, and it initially featured a fold-down windshield. The Scout and second-generation Scout II were produced in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as two-door trucks with a removable hardtop with options of a full-length roof, half-cab pickup, and/or soft top. This Scout features a rebuilt 345 CID V8 engine and automatic transmission. The Wedgewood Blue paint on the body, along with all other paint, was done by the original owner. The transmission and transfer case were recently rebuilt. Fuel injection has been added to the V-8 giving it plenty of get up and go. It has a new aluminum radiator and hoses. Has original factory AC but is not currently working. It features power steering and brakes and has new BFG tires on original wheels.
