Using step by step instructions, practice the mc nasty while standing. 0:54 2 Practice getting on your bow with half a cartwheel and rotating by pulling with your secondary blade. 1:13 3 Practice a cross-bow pull to get on your bow. 1:21 4 Do a cross bow pull and put your leading hand next to your hip and lean on your hips towards it. Push on that hand to elevate your bum and add your second hand next to it a shoulders width apart. 1:30 5 Do a small hop, press on your hands and go for a forward roll. 1:37 6 Practice a cross-bow pull to get on your bow. 1:53 7 Sitting in the basic position, bounce the boat and do a back sweep stroke. On the same side, do a cross bow pull on the blade to get yourself on the bow. Bounce and jump up as in flatwater loop. Try to do the same without the back sweep stroke and the bounce on the bow. 2:36 Practice a 'pivot' style McNasty initiation on flat water by doing the first end of a cartwheel and then grabbing the water with the paddle and pulling the boat around, whilst keeping boat vertical, and ending by throwing a loop. 3:09 7 Hold a back surf for as long as you can whilst sitting in the basic position. Try paddling backwards. 3:19 8 Try to hold a steady back surf and do a strong back stroke to push yourself higher up the green. Feel the motion of the stern getting pushed up and the bow sinking under a little and then dropping back into the foam pile. 3:43 9 Complete a flat spin without edging, don’t be afraid to fall in. Try to drop your upstream edge once you start feeling comfortable with that. Shift your body weight to the opposite edge to prevent power flipping and keep pulling on the paddle blade to get as much rotation as you can until you are able to face the green. Focus on trying to bring the bow around underneath you. 4:00 10 Repeat the previous exercise. When you feel the edge catching on, push your feet down and try to jump a loop towards the green, breaking the rotation early and trying to bring the boat back with no aerial loop. 4:26 11 IN STEEPER FACED HOLE: Do a half cartwheel at the angle of 45 degrees towards the hole. Once you are facing backwards, press harder on the blade and kick your bum towards the green to get in to a backward position to the green water. Once on the bow, go for rotation by pulling with your secondary blade and whilst keeping your body centred and trying to face the green. #Loveitliveit #FreestyeUnlocked IG: @ @bartoszczauderna FB:
