EP 1: Realizing that I was a Lukewarm Christian

Join me, Shanika on this very controversial topic about being a lukewarm Christian and some of the ways that I realized that I fell into that. The moment that I realized that I was a Lukewarm Christian changed EVERYTHING for me in the recent months. What is a Lukewarm Christian? 👉🏾 someone who is neither hot nor cold, according to Revelation 3: 15-16. I really go all the way there in FULL transparency on how I wasn’t really all the way for Christ as much as I thought I was. I found myself dabbling into other things for comfort, compromising His ways for my own desires/ambitions, fearing man over God, occasionally reading the Bible, seeking more “word” from preachers/prophets, not standing on what the Bible said + making excuses for worldly views, going after my dreams my way, + MORE. So often, we look at being lukewarm as JUST being halfway in the world + in Christianity, BUT what if being lukewarm also meant……. You do NOTHING with your faith [just going to church, reading your Bible, + doing “good” deeds, but no edifying of others, sharing the gospel, helping those in need, loving your neighbor, etc). You focus more on physical needs/things more than spiritual things. You don’t build your character or allow God to use the negative experiences + sufferings to shape you into being more like Christ——instead you lean into your comforts. And so many other layers! 🙌🏾 Other topics you'll hear in this episode: -The dangers of Pride -Transformative journey -Discipleship -Emotional turbulence -Character building -Love -Faith -Adversity -Unwavering faith -Therapy -Repentance -Spiritual growth -Purpose vs. Calling -Understanding God's will -Authenticity -Humility SO much I’ve learned + SO much to unpack. “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out My mouth”. — Revelation 3: 15-16 ➕ I pray that my honesty helps someone else who was in the same position as I was.
