Western officials to skip Nagasaki bomb memorial as Israel not invited

The US and UK representatives have withdrawn from attending the annual Nagasaki atomic bombing memorial after local authorities did not invite Israel. The decision not to invite Israel’s ambassador to Nagasaki comes amid protests in Hiroshima against the presence of Israeli officials at a similar commemoration earlier this week.
