. Наибольшая заповедь

Welcome to a very special YouTube presentation, featuring my good friend and colleague, Prof. Zev Garber, coming to us via Zoom, from Los Angeles, California. This conversation focuses on the so-called “Great Commandment,” as found in the mouth of Jesus of Nazareth. We read in Matthew 22: “An expert in the law, tested him with this question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied: ‘“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’” Jesus’ reference is obviously to Deuteronomy 6:4-5, to which he adds Leviticus 19:1. But what does the historical, Jewish Jesus mean by returning to the KEY declaration of the Jewish faith?
